Masterplanning the retail offer

Rawls were appointed to masterplan and concieve the retail offer of the £100m expansion of London Luton Airport which completed in 2019. Planning the retail mix, unit formats, sizes and their ultimate flexibility and quantum we explored through stakeholder workshops including airlines and commercial team. We carefully examined minimising the built volume needed, whilst maintaining the best possible sightlines and the right sized shopfront openings.

The completed development has greatly increased the range and demonstrated the appetite for luxury brands and a wider food offer.
