London Design Fair 2019
In search of inspiration, Rawls were in Shoreditch this week at London Design Fair 2019. This craft-focused design show is an annual fixture. Here are some of the trends that excited us this year. Patination and maximal decorative design were a theme that continued and developed from last year’s show. Evidence of finishing processes were expressed for decorative effect. Geometric forms with bold colour combinations featured in finishes and products. Thought provoking prototypes, and novel materials made from recycled content and repurposed natural material by-products like corn husks featured heavily. 1980’s influenced ceramics and homewares and graphic floor-coverings.
